We want to be a church where anyone can come, feel welcomed and accepted, and find their way at their own pace. Whether you’ve walked through our doors for the first time, or you’ve been attending for years, you never know what to expect during our services. From the moment you walk in the door until the moment you leave, we are committed to a creative, compelling, challenging, relevant presentation of God’s truth. We desire to experience worship that is genuine and freeing – not sensational or rigid.
We do not believe that we are the only true church, but we are part of a body of Christians from so many denominations who all belong to Jesus Christ. New Life holds the Bible to be the literal inspired Word of God. It is the textbook to life itself, and it inspires an unshakable faith in a God who never leaves or forsakes us.
From the 7th February 2016 we’ll be getting together at: 07:45, 09:30 and 11:15- Come as you are! All the experiences are are identical – simply pick the time that suits you the best.
Friendship. Belonging. Community.
We all want a place where we can find true friendship and community. And we believe that God’s plan for our lives involves other people! No man is an island on their own, we are part of a bigger body, all connected to each other.
When we look at the early church in Acts 2 we see groups of passionate believers that met in each others houses, prayed together, had communion together. They supported one another constantly, and when times got tough they shared all they had. In a nutshell, that is what Friendship Groups are all about.
We invite you to join a Friendship Group in the quest to become more like the church we read about in Acts. We believe that your relationship with God will blossom and mature as you find yourself in a safe environment where you trust those around you enough to share experiences and ask questions.
If you’re not in a group yet, consider becoming a host! All you need to become a host is to: Have a heart for others, Open your home, Serve a cup of tea or coffee, and Turn on a DVD player. The church will provide you with a weekly DVD teaching and question cards that you can use to help facilitate discussion. The role of the host is not to teach all those who attend your group – the role of the host is simply to provide the space where Friendships can be formed!
Friendships are important in every phase of life.
We all want to know and be known, to connect with others and share life experiences.
Silver and Gold provides the place for senior citizens (age 50+) to connect with others who are going through the same things in life.
They meet every Tuesday morning (during the school terms) at 10h00 in the Chapel. Here they experience community, worship, teaching and some silly fun. From the Chapel they move into Community Central where they get to fellowship over tea and coffee and treats.
Silver & Gold is open to all. Don’t miss out on this opportunity – it’s never too late to make good friends and grow in His Word.
The New Life Young Adults Ministry caters for younger adults in the 20-30 year age bracket.
We’ll be getting together every 2nd Saturday night -this is a night of connecting through entertaining activities and in-depth teaching that will meet you where you are in your stage of life.
Jesus established water baptism as a commitment opportunity for believers when He gave the Great Commission message in Matthew 28:19 and Mark 16:16. Water Baptism is far more than a ritual or religious exercise. It is not only our personal choice, but it’s a command for those who are believers. We encourage all adult believers to take this important step, even if they have already been baptised as children.
Water Baptism is a public, outward declaration that reflects a personal, inward faith. It associates the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and signifies the believer’s death to the old life and his or her resurrection as a new creation in Christ (Romans 6:1–8; Colossians 2:12, 2 Corinthians 5:17). In order to understand the reason for being water baptised, it is important to carefully consider what the Bible says about it.
If you wish to be baptised, please join us for a Baptism class which takes place once-a-month. You can book your spot at this class at the Information Desk.
We do baptisms on the last Sunday of every month (during the warmer months) and the Baptism classes always run the preceding Tuesday night at 18h30.
Parents partnering with God as they raise their children.
New Life Church believes that children are a gift from God, and we are very excited that you are investigating Child Dedication.
Child Dedication is a public commitment that you make before God, your church, and your family. The Dedication Service provides you, the parent/s, with an opportunity to express publically your desire to lead and spiritually nurture your child in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, so that your child will develop a desire to love God and love others.
One key step in marking your desire to nurture your child in the ways of God is to dedicate him or her to God publically, through a Child Dedication Service. But before you and your child/ren can take part in the service, you as the parent/s will have to attend a Child Dedication Class which takes place on a Wednesday night at 18h30. In this class we go through the Biblical purpose and background and frequently asked questions that you as the parent/s may have regarding Child Dedication. The actual Dedication Service will happen on the Sunday of that same week after the 10h15 service in the Main Hall.
Child Dedication Services at New Life Church happen once a quarter, and when there is an upcoming service, the dates and details will be published in all forms of New Life Church’s media. If you are interested in dedicating your child/ren, you can sign up at the Information Desk where you will be given a Dedication Booklet that you as the parent/s will have to go through before the class.
All Dedication Services are recorded on video and made available for your purchase on DVD at Seeds.
Prayer & Worship Meeting
Bringing God our joys as well as our needs; prayer is the spiritual practice of conversing with God, it involves both speaking to God and listening for His response. New Life Church’s prayer ministry supports both these vital aspects of prayer.
A PLACE TO PRAY
New Life Church has a comfortable, worshipful space set aside specifically for people to engage in the spiritual discipline of prayer before each of our Sunday services. The chapel is a place for you to ready your heart to hear from God, a place for you to cry out to God for whatever your need or circumstance may be, and a place for you to lift up the Sunday services in anticipation of people’s lives being changed by God.
MONTHLY PRAYER & WORSHIP EXPERIENCE
On the first Sunday Night of every month from 6-7:30pm we come together as a congregation to pray for our families, our community, and our world. Some people pray out loud, some people pray silently, but everyone is welcome to join us for this time of corporate prayer.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER TEAM
At New Life Church we have a team of people who intercede continually on behalf of the Church and others. It is a team filled with people who have the gift of and a passion for intercessory prayer. If this sounds like something for you, fill out an Intercessory Prayer Team card at the information desk and someone at the Church office will get back to you about joining the team.
If you face any needs or circumstances that require prayer, you can fill out a Family News card also available at the Information Desk; these get handed on to the Intercessory Prayer Team and get printed in the Sunday notices.
We run a variety of Equipping courses throughout the year usually on a Wednesday evening. These courses range from the Alpha course to the Network course. Keep a look out for up and coming equipping course dates and information.
